(look at my other question) I just called my landlord this morning and the number has changed?? ! so i have to drive 30 minutes to his house to tell him, they are horrible have they ever heard of sending out a letter saying my number has changed, but how klikely is it that a person can get a desease form mice, i feel nausea and weak for over a week now so has my husband, but the kids are not complaining of any sickness.Mice has been in my refrigerater?
Please see the webpages for more details on Leptospirosis.

Leptospirosis is a rare, severe, and contagious bacterial infection caused by several species of the genus Leptospira, a spiral-shaped microorganism (spirochete).

Incubation period of 2 to 26 days (average 10 days)

Abrupt onset of fever, rigors, myalgias, and headache in 75 to 100% of patients

Dry cough (25-35% of cases)

Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea (50% of cases)

Less common symptoms include joint aches, bone pain, sore throat, and abdominal pain

Approximately 7 to 40% of patients may have muscle tenderness, an enlarged spleen or liver, enlarged lymph glands, sore throat, muscle rigidity, abnormal lung sounds, or skin rash.

Penicillins, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, and erythromycin can be given to treat leptospirosis. Supportive care needs to be given in complicated cases.Mice has been in my refrigerater?
throw all food out...sanitize....leave some poison and traps for mice...and it is a violation of health code i sis had own crawl in her oven eat a cheese pizza and expire on it from cooking...ya slum lords do nothing and it was a freschetta pizza what a advice...move..
Now right now call your local health department have them take a look a your fridge ..........this landlord sounds more like a slumlord! Report him/her!
you can get sick from rats urine ,and the symptoms are just like you are saying ,you ought to get checked out now, mice wee over everything they walk over so that is all your food
depends mice do carry diseaseas just go to the doctor to be on the safe side
Mice in your refrigerator......Well they do carry disease and if they are near your food source it could be dangerous. As far as the symptoms...they could be from anything. Call your Dr. to make an apt. Also as far as your landlord. If you live in the US. If you cannot get a hold of your landlord to fix this problem. You are within your rights to pay for an exterminator to come out and then just subtract it from the rent. Save the receipt and send it with your usual monthly payment with a note attached stating why you did what you did. Have it notarized. A notary can usually be found at the post office or your local bank. it usually only costs a few dollars to get that that done. Then make a copy for yourself and keep it in your records if he ever tries to dispute it. After you have gone to the Dr. and if it does turn out it is due to the mice and your landlords neglect....You can make him pay for the Dr visit as well.

Good luck!
