What do mice eat?

It's a kangaroo mouse.What do mice eat?
You need lots of seeds- they are very hard to keep alive in captivity (at least the NA version, or so I have heard). They get all of their moisture from their food and will never drink water. Some may if it is available, but most never do.

As for their type of diet, if you do not have specific diet for your species (there are 22 different species of kangaroo rats), I am not sure if it will work. They may need specific kinds of seeds, but if you do not have that, try some grass seeds (organic, not lawn) as well as millet, wheat, oats, and a few soybeans and sunflower. A bird mixture may work well, it is worth a try.What do mice eat?

They will eat anything which includes paper and certain wood that is built within a building.

most will eat grains. Mice will mostly eat anything, example fruit with seeds, grains such as bread or birdseed, and minor dairy. Most recent studies show that mice eating cheese is just a rodent stereotype. but if you are handy you could go to the pet store and buy it mouse food.
Seeds, fruits, except citrus, veggies, maybe some raw peanuts, etc. Check at the pet store. They will have a good seed mix and mouse treats.
Don't feed mice cheese, it gives them diarrhea.

I used to feed my mice sunflower seeds (watch out though, they're fattening), steamed veggies and some seeds from the local pet shop.
';They forage for seeds and vegetation amongst the scrub brush of their native habitat. The Dark Kangaroo Mouse is also known to feed occasionally on insects and carrion. Interestingly, the mouse never drinks water, instead deriving it metabolically from the foods it eats. ';
