Why is there only one women in mice and men?

Maybe because women weren't working as migrant workers much? Steinbeck probably didn't feel a woman was central to the plot of attaining the American Dream between George and Lennie, a simple minded man and then the lonely man who chose poor company over NO company. Why is there only one women in mice and men?
because that book showed that it was easy for the majority t osuceed in life. diud you notice how the slave was treated like crap, and how all teh men treated the old guy really bad. There was only one women because that was ususally how it was back then: poeple thought low of women, and did you notice how she was killed?%26gt; there u go. hope that it helped :-)Why is there only one women in mice and men?
The book was dealing with the hard facts of their life.. Women, according to the story, were soft and warm.. they didn't have a place in their life.. or in the story. The little things that die, and the woman are parallels, only different significance. The rabbits(?) deaths were meant to illustrate the little choices that made their dream impossible.. The woman's death was the final blow.. the end of everything. The killing of everything that was soft and warm, even if it hadn't been that much.
