Exterminating mice in the garage?

So for a while we've had mice in the garage and now we are trying to get rid of them, just today we put out poison and sprayed down some food that they got into. It's been about half an hour since we've done so, how long should I expect before I start seeing less of them (predicted about 4+ of them)? And if none of these things work what else could I try?Exterminating mice in the garage?
Your first step would be to block the way their getting in. The poison your using is probably slow acting if its over the counter. It will work, but you have to block the entrances and give the poison time to work.Exterminating mice in the garage?
I found this method by accident. I leaned a rake against an almost empty 5 gallon bucket that contained bird seed. A few seeds around the bucket must have attracted mice who eventually ran up the rake and fell into the bucket.

You can release them outside, or not.

Is there anyway to get rid of mice pee out of clothes?

Any type of urine from mammals, both humans and pets, contains uric acid crystals. Whether you are cleaning up after your child, an incontinent adult or your pet, the uric acid smell can stay on clothes even after laundering. You can use ingredients you may already have in your pantry to remove these odors from clothes, bedding and other washable fabrics cost-effectively and safely.

Things You'll Need:

Enzyme-based cleaner

Washing machine

Vinegar

Laundry detergent

Dryer

Scented fabric softener sheets

Outdoor clothesline

Pre-treat the clothes by placing them on a flat surface and spraying them with an enzyme-based cleaner, saturating the area thoroughly to ensure complete coverage.

Step 2If you have a top-loading washing machine, start it as you would normally, using the cycle speed and water temperature recommended on the garment label. Add your regular laundry detergent as the washer fills with water, letting the washer fill completely before loading the stained clothes.

Step 3Add one cup of white vinegar to the load, letting the washer agitate enough to mix the vinegar throughout the clothes, then stop the machine. Allow to soak for one hour, then run the machine through the rest of the washing cycle.

Step 4If you have a front-loading washing machine, pre-soak the clothes in a utility sink or in a large bucket filled with water. Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the water, then add the clothes. Let them soak for one hour, then pour off the water. Load the clothes into the washer, then add one cup of vinegar and your regular laundry detergent and set the machine for a regular cycle.

Step 5Hang the clothes outside on a clothesline if you can, or dry them in the dryer with scented dryer sheets of your choice. Is there anyway to get rid of mice pee out of clothes?

it just popped into my head, and now i am popping it out.

NO. Thats like asking if humans and monkeys can make babies. Simular families of DNA, but not the same. Can mice and rats make babies?
No rats and mice can't procreate.

I didnt, but it was SO sad!!!!Did you cry when you read ';Of mice and men';?
No. Although sucks for both of them. For an English assignment I had to write an ending to that book.

I don't want to give anything anyway in case someone wants to read it.

I need help on the book ';Of Mice and Men';?

Can anyone help me on 3 thesis statements that are general stements anyone can agree with relating to Loyalty and friendship, loyalty and trustworthiness, loyalty and love. Also what details can I use to support these thesis statements.I need help on the book ';Of Mice and Men';?
Well, George was acting humanist, helping another human being simply because they are human, throughout the entire book. He always helped Lennie. Lennie was George's best friend and so when George shot Lennie at the end of the novel it was to help Lennie, for many reasons. So George gave up his only friend in thw orld, remember he's a traveling migrant worker, to help his friend. That was a pretty great sacrifice. You could easily have points to support friendship and loyalty, because George and lennie were friends, ';we're not like other guys'; and because George was always there for Lennie.

Describe the cahracters of the book ';Of Mice and Men';?

one is big and dumb (Steinbeck) and the other is a poodle (Charlie)Describe the cahracters of the book ';Of Mice and Men';?
i did this for GCSE last year. i think you should only do about 3 or 4 characters. or maybe the first section on George and Lennie and the second on Slim then the last on Curley's wife. Cant remember much about them except how G and L sort of rely upon each other, Lennie for comfort and to have George as a stable parental figure and G needs L as physical protection due to his size, also i think G needs L for him to show his authority and act as a father figure

Slim is kind of the authority figure as he is seen as royalty even though he's just a worker. he's seen as more superior to Curley and feels he has the power to threaten him over the crushed hand thing

Curley's wife signifies death in the story as she is like 'poison'........

dno if any of that would help or if i just talked a load of rubbish, its surprisingly hard tryin to remember even tho i spent 2 years on it!!! Anyway..... Good Luck with thatDescribe the cahracters of the book ';Of Mice and Men';?
I haven't read that book in about five years. But check out cliff notes or wikipedia.
I have read it, but I do not have any time to write down descriptions of each. sparknotes.com has a nice character list.

crooks not being alowed in the bunkhouse i suppose is econmic injustice

dreams could be curleys wife wanting to be a movie star orgeorge lenny and candy wanting there own ranch with the rabbits or even crooks' dream to be alowwed in the bunkhouse to be able to play cards with the others.

george holds a high responbility caring for lenny and slim hold a responsiblilty of keeping the calm in the camp and making sure everyone is ok.Of Mice and Men?
Dreams! An ongoing dream is the one held by George and Lennie at fist, and them Candy joins. Another great topic would be Survival of the Fittest and loneliness, something to point out would be the name of the setting Soledad, which means ';loneliness'; in Spanish.
You may want to read it again!
    the american dream-lennie and george-';we gonna live of da fat of da lan.';

dreams-lennies halucinations before he is shot by george, he dreams of his aunt clara, and of a giant rabbit/signify guilt and also portray lennie as going far beyond crazy.

curly-he's the bosses son and he thinks that makes him invisible, notice how curly's wife has no name, because she is seen as a possession and not as a human being...society roles....

well the injustice thing just confuses me sorry.

How do scientist measure the temperature of the sun,a flame, liquid hydrogen, mice, insects, and a volcano. thanks

Can a smart person give me a detailed explaintion of how scientist measure each:

    the temperature of

1.the sun, 2.a flame, 3.a volcano, 4.liquid hydrogen, 5.mice, and 6.insects. I need it fpr a research paper. I have no clue how to find out. Anybody got a website or something. I looked on the internet i cant find anything. Please. I would appreciate it.How do scientist measure the temperature of the sun,a flame, liquid hydrogen, mice, insects, and a volcano. thanks
Really hot objects radiate light of different colours - hence the terms ';red hot';, ';white heat';. This method is used for objects like the sun and volcanoes, steel in furnaces because putting a probe into them is not possible because they're either too far away (the sun) or so hot that they would melt the measuring device (furnace). The device is a pyrometer.

Items that can be touched and are not too hot can be measured using either thermocouples and or thermometers.

    1. 2. 3. Pyrometer

    4 Thermocouple

    5 Thermometer

6 Thermocouple (maybe - not sure on this one)How do scientist measure the temperature of the sun,a flame, liquid hydrogen, mice, insects, and a volcano. thanks
The sun is really cold, contrary to what official science says.As actual proof, the outer space exposed to sun rays without any blockage from atmosphere is really extremely cold to approximately 3 oK (-273 oC), water freezes approximately at 4 oC. Why is it not then extremely hot, since when sun is resplendent, in summer for instance, and there are no clouds is hot outdoors? Heat is caused by a thermal reaction between sun rays and the electromagnetic planetary aura, the Van Allen lines or the morphogenetic fields of matter as taught in ancient arcane wisdom and in the book Telos.Astronomers measure the temperature of far-away things (Stars) by investigating the radiation (mostly light) that they emit, and they can do that right here from the Earth. Astronomers use the same effects that you see if you heat up a piece of iron. You don't feel any radiation (heat) coming from a cold piece of iron, but it's still emitting a little radiation. If you heat up the iron you will start feeling its heat even when you are not touching it. This heat that you feel is the infrared radiation that the iron emits because of its temperature. The hotter you make the iron, the more heat you'll feel. If you make the iron hot enough, it also starts to glow: first a dull red (red-hot), and finally a bright white (white-hot). So, if you heat up a piece of iron you notice three effects: when the iron gets hotter, you feel more heat coming from it, it glows brighter, and its color changes. These things don't just happen with pieces of iron, but with any material, including the material in the Sun. Heat is not the only thing that can make stuff glow, though. Some things can glow even when they are cold, for instance a fluorescent light, and a television or computer screen (which also uses a kind of fluorescence). These are called continuum sources because they emit light at every wavelength in a broad range, not just at a few specific wavelengths. If scientists can measure the total light output, including the infrared heat, they can find the object's temperature. So, you can measure something's temperature by measuring how much energy (heat and light) it emits, and by checking the color(s) of the light that it emits. To find the temperature of the object from its light, it is important that you look at only the light that the object itself emits, and not at light from some other source that it reflects. The colors you see around you during the day are caused by reflected sunlight, so they do not say anything about the temperature of things on Earth, but rather about the temperature of the visible surface (the photosphere) of the Sun. Scientists long ago figured out what temperature goes with what color and what brightness, so if they know the brightness or color, then they can easily determine the temperature. If you don't know how far away the thing is that you're looking at, then you can only use the color to figure out what temperature it has. This is the case for many stars. In this way, the surface temperature of the Sun has been found to be about 5770 kelvin, or 9900 degrees F, or 5500 degrees C.

actually science is based on assumptions and to keep things going on, we need to set certain standards.a few temeratures are kept as standards and every measurement is accoring to that and also that it is considered as hot or cold
    sun - internal or external?

    6000K outside, 50000K inside.

it can be calculated using estimates of the energy produced from the mass of the sun and its rate of nuclear explosions.

detecting sub atomic particle emissions can help with this.

but it is only ever an estimate

all the others you can use thermocouples since they are here on this planet!

just reference it to a known temperature of say, water, for calibration reasons.

i think the creatures are measure by non-invasive procedure. its possible to use a similar devise to a bon-calorimeter. where you measure the rate of temperature change and use some nifty maths to extrapolate back to find the constant level of input of the creature... of course. creatures will generate more or less heat depending on the state of their metabolism so this will actually be variable.

If you are buying more than one mouse for a network, are you buying mice or mouses?

Mouse devices. If you are buying more than one mouse for a network, are you buying mice or mouses?
Its miceIf you are buying more than one mouse for a network, are you buying mice or mouses?
';Mice'; is proper, but ';mouses'; is also accepted. Here's an explanation from Wikipedia:

    Mice or mouses?

    There is a fake etymology of the word mouse, which some claim is an acronym for ';Manually Operated User Selection Equipment';, but the device's name came from its resemblance to a mouse and was established very early on. A Microsoft technical manual recommends the use of ';mouse devices'; to avoid ambiguity, though this usage has not caught on outside technical writing. The American Heritage Dictionary of English Language, Fourth Edition, states that ';computer mice'; and ';computer mouses'; are both proper plural forms for ';computer mouse.';
From a linguistics perspective, you're buying ';mouses.'; Mice is only the plural for the animal. You wouldn't say you're hooking up ';mice'; to a network of computers any more than you would say you just bought two ';walkmen'; at the electronics store (it would be ';walkmans';).
    mice
    It's mice.

  • I have a question about mice?

Well, I have always been a hamster person, but i was thinking my hamster is going to eventually die of old age :(, and so would having mice be much different? Also do they smell bad?I have a question about mice?
Mice do have a naturally musky odor but it's not that bad if their habitat is cleaned regularly. Females smell less %26amp; if you want to adopt more than 1 you should have females.

We've lived with *lots* of mice %26amp; hamsters. There are some similarities in their habits %26amp; how you care for them. Both are nocturnal, usually enjoy exercise wheels %26amp; can use the same type of cage, water bottle, toys %26amp; bedding. Make sure that the cage bars are close enough together so that your mice can't squeeze through though. Like hamsters, mice have individual personalities %26amp; some are friendlier than others. I've heard that some mice bite, but I've *never* been bit by a mouse except the 1st time I've handled a pup after their eyes have opened %26amp; most pups don't don't even do that.

Mice require less fat %26amp; protein in their diets than hamsters but there are specially made foods you can get for them. Mice also jump %26amp; climb a *lot* more than hamsters do so they appreciate hanging toys %26amp; boxes in their cage. A well socialized mouse is comfortable sitting on your shoulder but a hamster is likely to slip. Mice also use their tails which hamsters obviously can't do. They'll wrap their tails around your finger in a little mouse hug %26amp; rattle them if their annoyed.I have a question about mice?
a mouse doesn't really have much of a smell imo. however, the droppings and pee can get really smelly if you are diligent about keeping its cage clean. unfortunately small animals like mice don't live much past 3 years on average. :(
Mice's urine does smell worse than a hamster's.

Mice are very agile and acrobatic, more than a hamster; and not as fragile as a hamster. Better climbers than hamsters.

But the care is pretty much the same.
If you are talking about if a gerbil stink they totally do. My moms kindergarten teachers had some and they stunk. I would advise you not to get mice/gerbils.
Well I have hamsters and they live quite awhile. Well one ate the others head but were not talking about that now! Wait till your hamster dies then go to the pet store for best answers.

Do cats that have been neutered turn in to hunters and leave mice on your door step more than not neutered cat

seems out of my friends that the cats that have been done bring home more dead gifts than the ones that havent do u think they are bord and turn to hunting?Do cats that have been neutered turn in to hunters and leave mice on your door step more than not neutered cat
That's a cats way of thanking you. They think of you like a King so they bring you gifts. I've actually had cats leave ';presents'; on my bed!!!!! All cats usually do it from time to time, whether they are male/female, fixed or not. Just say thanks and throw it out. Don't punish him for it though. He thinks of it as a good gesture.Do cats that have been neutered turn in to hunters and leave mice on your door step more than not neutered cat
Fun fact. Non-sexual cats are more apt to be beta personalities... meaning that they will accept a leader more readily and show it with gifts of mice. However, LOTS of cats do this, not just fixed ones... My cats prefer to give me gifts of wood voles (yuck). And one female occasionally leaves baby mice still alive in my kids' shoes. I figure she thinks I'm neglecting their hunting training.
It has nothing to do with your cat being nueterd, but it has to do with him honoring you. Since he loves you he brings gifts!!!!!
all cats hunt fixed or not...he's not bored he's just not searching for a female anymore and his instinctes tell him ti hunt
I was always told that cats bring you dead gifts because they love you, it is a sign of affection.
We have 2 neutered male cats that bring birds in the house. I have never had a non-neutered cat, so I can't make any comparisons. Although, one of our males brings in birds about 10:1 over the other one.
cats are natural hunters. It doesnt matter if they are spayed/neutered, its there natural instinct to hunt,

I have a spayed female and she is always leaving me presents - I woke up one morning with a present on top of me and she was right beside it. Dont punish the cat for this - this is there way of contributing. Good Kitty - oh look what you brought me,and dispose of it.

Can cats get rid of mice?

Yes most cats are great hunters. But there will always be a few pampered cats that refuse to ';get their paws dirty.';Can cats get rid of mice?
Yes, if they see them, they are natural hunters.

They hunt a lot, like birds, bugs, mice, rabbits, chipmunks too, I think.

Heh, but if your cat finds the mouse, it may bring it to you to 'share' with you. It's in the cats nature to share the food it catches with its family. Lol.Can cats get rid of mice?
I'll make it easy and simple. YES
I got two off my sisters farm and never had a problem since they cleaned them up,along with rats but spoiled cats won't hunt
they will bring you the gift to show they are on the job
Well, of course, it is probably the reason humans orginally domesticated cats. They are excellen ';mousers';, which means they kill mice.
Considering I just got rid of a body in my trailer after my ';killer'; brought it in to show me, Yes. My dad and brother will leave the doors open on the barns so my cat can get in and clean house.

Have 4 rats and 3 mice should i get more pets and if so what kind?

A cat should solve your rodent problem.Have 4 rats and 3 mice should i get more pets and if so what kind?
Whether or not to get more pets is really up to you, your housemates, and your commitment to giving them the time they need, as well as affording their needs including medical expenses. However, before deciding on an additional pet, make sure it doesn't see your mice and rats as food (so a snake would not be a good idea). Cats are hit and miss, some may get along well with the mice/rats, others may attack them, and some well-meaning ones may ';play'; with them (knocking them around) 'til they unintentionally kill them which would be unfortunate. A dog may also be a hit or miss companion, if it chooses to play with the mice/rats or pick them up with their teeth, they could easily hurt or kill them. ';Teen'; or older ferrets might be a good idea (baby ferrets, like teething human babies, tend to bite things 'til they learn that biting is something that hurts others). American ferrets are all domesticated and see all creatures as potential friends. Check your ferret's personality, if it's too rough a player for your smaller pets, most pet stores allow you to exchange it for another ferret within a specified time period. (The black footed ferret is not American, not domesticated, and may not even be legal here.)Have 4 rats and 3 mice should i get more pets and if so what kind?
If you feel like you can give the attention to more pets and have adequate space for them, why not? It would be nice if you could take in some pets that are going to be euthanized because there's no room in the shelters/animal control for them. Some animal controls actually have small animals like rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits.

And contrary to popular belief that felines and rodents are always enemies, cats can get along with rats and mice, but of course there always has to be supervision and never a situation where the rat or mouse can get caught/captured/scratched/squished by the cat.

So maybe a kitten? Kittens are easier than puppies, as they usually come litter trained if you adopt them from a rescue or SPCA; and a kitten would be young enough to teach to stay away from the rats/mice.

We have four cats, a dog, five rats, a rabbit, two mice and two guinea pigs. We live in a small apartment. The largest cat is best friends with both of the guinea pigs (he cuddles them) and all of the cats (and the dog) leave the rats/small animals alone (but it wasn't always so; the kittens needed to be taught at an early age to stay away from/not bother the rats %26amp; mice).

So whatever you get, if you get another pet, just make sure that you teach them boundaries. Also be sure that you can take care of them financially. Larger animals can be more costly to feed (even guinea pigs...it's the pigs and the rabbit that we spend the most on food every week, because of their vegetarian diet).
Do you mean that this isn't enough? Wait a while and the odds are the incumbents will solve that graving for you themselves. If they are well suited to the task, you won't be able to hold them back. And as any biologist will tell you, rodents are perpetual urinators/deficators. They don't concern themselves with being retentive when the urge strikes them. Slow down a bit and don't get too anxious with the Doctor Doolittle thing.
only if you have the funds and the comitment

a rabbit, keep the whole mammal thing going, rabbits are cool, call it peter rabbit or smithy or something like fatty, he could be your rock.

OR A REPTILE everyones envious of reptiles. but you should only get a another pet if you are fully comitted to taking care of it, and if you no the novelty may where off.........

it may not be a good idea, depends on your attitude and your calmer level, lol

    CHEERS

    hayles
I would get a Guinea Pig. There big and cool to have around the house. Rats and Mice are fun but too small to have lying around. with a Guinea pig you could have to run around a bit and pet it.
I wouldn't get more pets... just put heaps of effort into the pets you do have. But if you do want another pet... a goldfish or a cat?

Has anybody tried ';pest-stop 200'; electromagnetic mice repeller?

Does it workHas anybody tried ';pest-stop 200'; electromagnetic mice repeller?
In order for ANY electromagnetic device to work well enough to chase mice it would have to be to the point of injuring your pets and causing YOUR central nervous system damage.

I suggest you get alot of traps if you have mice and circle them around a small box of seed bait. You don't need to bait the traps put 4 around the box and the whole set up on newspaper. These traps go under the stove the sink the dishwasher and in remote places that the pets or children can't get to.

When placing them tuck against a wall even under the stove. Mice are virtually blind and use thier whiskkers to feel where they are going and use a wall for a guide.

Put ALL open pantry items in a large Rubbermaid until you mouse issue is resolved. Lift pet dishes take out the garbage leave them nothing to eat but the seed bait not even crumbs.Has anybody tried ';pest-stop 200'; electromagnetic mice repeller?
It's a scam, EM doesn't effect mice, don't spring for it.

I need to read Of Mice and Men by tomorrow, but I probably won't finish it, and I need to know what happens so could someone just give me a summary of what happens, and try to be as detailed as possible, thanks ^^Of Mice and Men, summary of it?
Two migrant workers, George and Lennie, have been let off a bus miles away from the California farm where they are due to start work. George is a small, dark man with “sharp, strong features.” Lennie, his companion, is his opposite, a giant of a man with a “shapeless” face. Overcome with thirst, the two stop in a clearing by a pool and decide to camp for the night. As the two converse, it becomes clear that Lennie has a mild mental disability, and is deeply devoted to George and dependent upon him for protection and guidance. George finds that Lennie, who loves petting soft things but often accidentally kills them, has been carrying and stroking a dead mouse. He angrily throws it away, fearing that Lennie might catch a disease from the dead animal. George complains loudly that his life would be easier without having to care for Lennie, but the reader senses that their friendship and devotion is mutual. He and Lennie share a dream of buying their own piece of land, farming it, and, much to Lennie's delight, keeping rabbits. George ends the night by treating Lennie to the story he often tells him about what life will be like in such an idyllic place.

The next day, the men report to the nearby ranch. George, fearing how the boss will react to Lennie, insists that he'll do all the talking. He lies, explaining that they travel together because they are cousins and that a horse kicked Lennie in the head when he was a child. They are hired. They meet Candy, an old “swamper,” or handyman, with a missing hand and an ancient dog, and Curley, the boss's mean-spirited son. Curley is newly married, possessive of his flirtatious wife, and full of jealous suspicion. Once George and Lennie are alone in the bunkhouse, Curley's wife appears and flirts with them. Lennie thinks she is “purty,” but George, sensing the trouble that could come from tangling with this woman and her husband, warns Lennie to stay away from her. Soon, the ranch-hands return from the fields for lunch, and George and Lennie meet Slim, the skilled mule driver who wields great authority on the ranch. Slim comments on the rarity of friendship like that between George and Lennie. Carlson, another ranch-hand, suggests that since Slim's dog has just given birth, they should offer a puppy to Candy and shoot Candy's old, good-for-nothing dog.

The next day, George confides in Slim that he and Lennie are not cousins, but have been friends since childhood. He tells how Lennie has often gotten them into trouble. For instance, they were forced to flee their last job because Lennie tried to touch a woman's dress and was accused of rape. Slim agrees to give Lennie one of his puppies, and Carlson continues to badger Candy to kill his old dog. When Slim agrees with Carlson, saying that death would be a welcome relief to the suffering animal, Candy gives in. Carlson, before leading the dog outside, promises to do the job painlessly.

Slim goes to the barn to do some work, and Curley, who is maniacally searching for his wife, heads to the barn to accost Slim. Candy overhears George and Lennie discussing their plans to buy land, and offers his life's savings if they will let him live there too. The three make a pact to let no one else know of their plan. Slim returns to the bunkhouse, berating Curley for his suspicions. Curley, searching for an easy target for his anger, finds Lennie and picks a fight with him. Lennie crushes Curley's hand in the altercation. Slim warns Curley that if he tries to get George and Lennie fired, he will be the laughingstock of the farm.

The next night, most of the men go to the local brothel. Lennie is left with Crooks, the lonely, black stable-hand, and Candy. Curley's wife flirts with them, refusing to leave until the other men come home. She notices the cuts on Lennie's face and suspects that he, and not a piece of machinery as Curley claimed, is responsible for hurting her husband. This thought amuses her. The next day, Lennie accidentally kills his puppy in the barn. Curley's wife enters and consoles him. She admits that life with Curley is a disappointment, and wishes that she had followed her dream of becoming a movie star. Lennie tells her that he loves petting soft things, and she offers to let him feel her hair. When he grabs too tightly, she cries out. In his attempt to silence her, he accidentally breaks her neck.

Lennie flees back to a pool of the Salinas River that George had designated as a meeting place should either of them get into trouble. As the men back at the ranch discover what has happened and gather together a lynch party, George joins Lennie. Much to Lennie's surprise, George is not mad at him for doing “a bad thing.” George begins to tell Lennie the story of the farm they will have together. As he describes the rabbits that Lennie will tend, the sound of the approaching lynch party grows louder. George shoots his friend in the back of the head.

Cheer up! I also felt awful my 2 rabbits died, but I just bought 2 new ones, fresh and clean, all you have to do is take that mistake as a lesson, watch your new mouse / mice then take it back home, that's only part of your lessons, just make the new mouse feel comfortable and make it like you. :DI ACCIDENTALLY KILLED ONe OF MY 2 MICE AND I FEEL SO AWFUL!?

If it was an accident, dont feel guilty. Last christmas it was like 40.C and i left my two mice outside in the cage with a wet towel over the top, and when i got home about 3hrs later, the towel had blown off and the had both died :( i felt sooo horrible and irresponsible. but i knew that i tried to help.

You did try to help in the start by letting them out in the sun, but it was an accident that u forgot. I mean, everyone forgets things right? but i know just how you feel

    Im sorry for your loss

maybe you could get a new mouse and have the cage outside and bring it in at night or something.

    i hope i helped :)
I hope someone leaves you out in the sun, and you come to the point of almost dying. But right before you pass into HELL (you did after all murder your mice), you will be saved and revived. Soon after you will develop a brain tumor the size of ohh lets say, a ';Mouse';. Then your head will pop, thus bringing justice to the Mice of the World.
If you were careless enough to do something like that, i think you shouldn't keep any pets for now, seeing as you don't seem responsible. You cant say that its an accident and just go on buying pets and what not, an animals life is as precious as that of a human, and its a life that is in your hands, so you shouldn't take it as though its nothing. What Maria B said is definitely not good, it is NOT okay.
    aww you poor thing :(

    dont worry...its okay...it was a mistake

um i guess buy another brown mouse?

or if you dont have the heart to...and the white one is lonely

    then just let it go.

i know the feeling...when i was young the same thing happened to me

i had 2 pairs of lovebirds, and the cat from next door ate one of each pair. i let the the other two go..and as a sense of 'closure' i guess

..i bought two more lovebirds and let them free.

good luck sweetie...i know this is difficult...
It was an accident. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. Please don't torture yourself over it. Every pet owner the world over has made mistakes with their pets, and sometimes the consequences were tragic.

Learn from this and when you take the cage out again, stay with them. Get another mouse when you feel ready.
i agree with Elle, but any animal that has been taken care of by humans, dont ';set it free'; it will get scared, lonely, and possibly be an easier prey for other animals.
dont worry about it, it was a mistake and everyone makes mistakes.

I've read the book for school and had to write an essay too but not on loneliness, but i get your drift on why you would choose it.

I'm guessing good titles would be:

    -depths of the soul

    -echoes of the heart

    -end of the road

    -one without the other

    -one bullet

The Loneliness of Mice and Men.
    The Cold Feeling of Lonliness
if i remember correctly the main characters, george and lenny, talked about living on a big farm and having animals and all that good stuff...how about on the lines of...

in an empty field, by myself

makes sense cause the mentally challenged character (lenny) is killed, and george is now by himself, and maybe he ended up getting the farm lenny and he talked about, but no one is around to enjoy it with him
Aww I loved of mice and men - it was so sad !

I cant really think of why the topic was ';loneliness';... maybe relating to not Lenny but the other guy - as he has to cope with Lenny on his own and kind of ';be the resposible adult'; and might find that lonely.. lol I have no idea! George! that was his name! I think! - Name your title something to do with that ... look at the main theme you explored whilst writing and name it that - and if all else fails ..just write ';Of mice and men'; as your title!! :)

do you think george was right for killing lennie ? and why

do u think whether or not mercy killing or capital punishment is good ?

    And why ?

ThanksDo you think george was right for killing lennie from the book '; OF MICE AND MEN';?
in a way yes...this is before he would have been found incompatent and the angry mob would have coused him more tourment. yes he killed people, but not because he was evil but because and not because he didn't know it was bad but because he didn't really understand what he was doing would leave to their death. he would pet the mouse to hard not realizng it was that that killed therefore being able to not do it again....he knew he did it but not really how, he knew it was from petting to hard but he really couldn't comprehend how to do it softer nor control that.... and even if he were put in home or mental hospital, and after he killed a person (the woman i can't remember her nam) that is what would be nessisary. but at that time those were the most horrific places to be...not like they are today...for lennie who had cognitive thought and barley understood action vs. consiquense and wasn't really crazy just slow it would havebeen a fate worse then death.

that and george knows the mob would have done it..but they would not have been as nice about it because they saw him as a monster not some one who was slow. lennie didn't deserve what the moob would have done to him, and the loony bins they had at that time weren't great...there may have been a chance that he could have been sentenced to death if put through the system...that at the time was not understanding.

die by mob, likely beat and hung or beat then shot

or thinking about the rabbits and happy that everything would be okay, by someone who loved him.Do you think george was right for killing lennie from the book '; OF MICE AND MEN';?
yes he was right for doing what he head 2 do. It was hard for him 2 that but he knew deep inside that it was right.....that's the best movie and book it just came on last night
well lennie was killing people, and it was for the best. George was being a good friend.
i LOVE THAT BOOK SAW THE MOVIE TOO BUT BOOK IS BETTER I THINK IT WAS RIGHT TO SAVE HIM FROM THE PAIN AND PUNISHMENT THAT WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM ANYWAYS BUT DON'T THINK I COULD HAVE DONE THAT. MERCY KILLINGS LIKE DR KEVORKIAN NO CAPITAL PUNISHMENT YES IT IS THE BEST DETERRENT

    Do ragdoll cats hunt mice/rats?

Hey, I've been planning on getting a ragdoll for quite a long time now.

%26amp; I was wondering if they hunt? i know those are cat instincts but i'm not sure about the ragdoll.

Yes, ragdoll cats do hunt, as it comes naturally. They are a very energy filled breed also. I don't have a ragdoll cat, but I do have a book that tells you every breed and their personality traits, origins, etc.Do ragdoll cats hunt mice/rats?
sorry I don't think im doing this right, only joined this to make this comment- I own two ragdolls (inside cats only!) one will jump to the top of a wall length cutain to catch a bug.. the other is not so active and bought me a mouse he caught - it was still alive he dropped it and it ran away.

Valencia, I was just wondering, of course I would never be stupid enough to let an indoor cat roam outdoors, and i don't have vermins in my house, anyway i've gotten a siberian cat and he is very much like my friends ragdoll cat, he's not allowed outdoors either ( in the contract)

To the best of my knowledge, all cats hunt. I suspect your question is ';do ragdolls catch and/or kill mice/rats?'; The answer lies with the kitten/cat's mother. If she taught her kittens the ';killing blow';, then yes. Sometimes, motivated by hunger, a cat can learn to kill with practice. Occasionally, a cat will ';play'; a critter to death, but that's not intentional. If memory serves me, leopards are the only instinctive killers (Wildlife magazine article long ago). If you have a cat and mice problems and the cat successfully hunts, be sure to get it wormed regularly and be aware that mice carry all kinds of diseases such as salmonella. I strongly recommend using some other method of pest control - it will most likely be cheaper than the vet bills. As mentioned, many, many breeders require indoor only cats, which hopefully limits their exposure to mice. purrs
Highly unlikely. They're very gentle, sweet cats. If you have vermin inside your home - call an exterminator.

I sure hope you're not thinking of getting a Ragdoll and intending to let it roam loose outdoors. First off, the contract with the breeder would forbid that. Secondly, the outdoors is very dangerous - especially for as laid back and relaxed a cat as a Ragdoll - it wouldn't last very long outdoors.

edit: hate to break it to you, Animal Luvr, but your cat is not a Ragdoll. It's a domestic longhair with pointed markings.
I DO have a ragdoll that hunts. She is totally gorgeous and sweet, she flops in your lap like a ragdoll, and she is very affectionate. Shes also an indoor cat but the second she sees any type of bug or anything move (even ones that I cannot see), she turns into a bouncing, excited little hunter. I also have an orange tabby who likes to catch bugs and stuff but she is by far more excited about it and better at it. She can't find real mice in my place but I do buy her fake mice and she brings them to me as gifts just like cats do when they hunt and bring back to their owners.

Not sure if they are all like that, but she is for sure.

She's a sealpoint ragdoll and they say that they're mixed in with Siamese in their past origin, she acts totally like a Siamese. She talks with her meows and when she hunts, she tells me that she brought something for me. lol

    Heres her picture :)

    http://s670.photobucket.com/albums/vv64/鈥?/a>

This picture is about maybe 6 months old. She went from 6 pounds to 12 pounds in the past 3 months after getting spayed.

    Story of my ragdoll:

She was dropped off at the vet when she was only about 2 months old. Her owners filled out her paperwork and listed her as a sealpoint ragdoll. They left their name, address and phone number and said they would be back in an hour to pick her up. An hour later, no owner. So the vet called their phone number, it was disconnected. Long story short, they never picked up the cat. This was approximately 5 days after Christmas, so the vet suspected that she was an unwanted Christmas gift. http://www.rfwclub.org/seal.htm There's a link to sealpoint ragdoll cats. The first one on the left is like my cats twin. In the photo which I posted, I noted that she was only 6 pounds (and 3 years old) but after being spayed she began eating more and is now approx. 12 lbs. but I am guessing more like 13 now. I have no papers but evidence leads to her being a ragdoll. From her behavior, to floppy body, and docile personality, as well as her looks, I have to believe that shes a ragdoll as the original owners said she was. (not like they were making money off of her, they dropped her off for goodness sakes.) But either way, ragdoll or not, shes a great cat and I don't care if shes purebred anything. I also have a tabby whos a ex-feral cat. Makes no dif to me.
Why would you want that? i have a Siamese and i keep her inside safe from disease if she were to eat a infected mice or even a wild one she could catch worms or anything else the mice was infected with not a good idea but im 99.9% sure ragolls hunt mice sorry for getting out of the question(:
All cats are carnivores and hunt live meat if given the opportunity. It is their most basic instinct. My mother had a ragdoll that hunted every day of it's life and lived to ripe old age of 18 years.
all cats have the instinct but it depends but sometimes it depends on whether the cats parent taught them how to hunt and for some it comes naturally
All cats hunt mice. Don't let her out.

I'm assuming you don't intend to breed them. There are enough little mice out there looking for homes already.

I highly recommend getting your mice from a responsible mouse breeder. If that is not possible, try a local rodent rescue/shelter. If that also fails, find the best petstore in town (= the one with the healthiest looking mice, who MUST be separated by gender if they are 5 wks or older).

Tips for finding healthy mice (and other info):

    http://www.fancymice.info/generalfrontpa鈥?/a>

Both male and female mice are very inquisitive, friendly little animals (the latter depending slightly on the extent to which they have been socialized/handled from a very young age).

Male mice are more smelly (by which I mean that their urine is; mice themselves smell absolutely wonderful).

Males can also fight amongst themselves (too much testosterone). It doesn't always happen, but if it does you MUST separate them, or they will kill each other.

If these are your first mice, I'd go for females.

Not everyone minds it as much, but ';mouse smell'; really does take some getting used to, especially in the beginning, when they still feel themselves to be in an unfamiliar environment (=%26gt; extra scent marking).

How many you should get depends on the size of your cage, which you haven't specifically stated... The absolute minimum is two. I planned on getting 5 when I started keeping mice. I ended up taking 7 home (mouse lesson no.1: mice are like potato chips, you can never have just one! LOL; especially if they have all these pretty colours and all you are seeing is a handful of huuuge sattelite dish-like mousie ears all tuned towards you, soooo adorable).

Anyway. Seven females was fine for me. My cage (tank) was large enough. But getting back to the smell... in restrospect I think maybe I should've gotten a few less, just to begin with.

So, yeah, maybe my initial 5 max...

Four is a nice number, too, though.

Just get as many as you like. :)

It's really nice to watch them interact with each other.

Note that there is a definite advantage to keeping 3 as opposed to only 2. Mouse average lifespan is 1-3 yrs (it varies quite a bit). So your little girls are inevitably going to die at different times. Having 3 mice will decrease the chance of you ending up with one lonely mouse for a very long time, if the other happens to die ';young';. Just a thought.

    Greetz.

    Cyzahhe

PS: Just coming back from the vet with one of my mice who has asthma, made me realize I forgot to add something...

When deciding how many pets to get, you might want to take into account veterinary costs. Mice are unfortunately very prone to respiratory infections and mammary tumours.

And, while antibios are relatively cheap and mouse tumours sadly often cannot be removed (always ask the vet for possible treatment options before putting a mouse down though), vets themselves can charge very high fees depending on which country/area you live in.

Just something else to think about.I'm getting mice! How many should I get? Is 5 enough???
Well If I were you mice arn't my fav but I would get all female or all male or eles they will make lots of babys and you might have a 100 mice before you know it. I herd mice and be agressive.I'm getting mice! How many should I get? Is 5 enough???
    get a cat
what do you need them for?
Depends on how hungry you are and how many people you are serving. The general rule is two mice per person.
If you get five, you will have fifty in a month!

    Try working with two females, then seeing what experiences you learn from those two. Such as, ';when will the males eat the babies?';

Then you will be prepared to handle a brood.

Before you introduce another sex into your cage, be SURE you have a store (or sadly, a snake handler) that will buy your babies!

VERY GOOD START!!! ARRRGH!!! I just HATE it when I see animals stuffed into a 10in X 10in cage with no respect for their nature or instinct.....especially dogs in apartments!
HA what FUNNY thing....i'm getting some mice tomarrow i would get to girls because they do not smell and if you get BOY and a GIRL they will mate.....well good luck with your new pets!!!!
5 should be enough for breeding. Be sure that you get at least 3 females. On the other had, a 4 to 1 ratio would be even better. If you are raising them for labratory experiments, you should be aware that florescent lights have been determined to be a significant cause of cancer in labratory animals.
5 !!!!!! 10 is better ... what can you do with 5 mice anyway?? 10 is the way to go...
LOL. 5 can turn into 55 if you mix the genders. Years ago, I bought 4 females and one was pregnant (didn't know when I bought her). I ended up with 53 because I refused to take them to the pet shops afraid they'd use them to feed snakes.

Fact: Mice are mature enough to mate at about a month old and from the time of conception to birth is also 3 weeks. So in 2 months, you have the grandchildren! A mouse can have up to 16 young per litter. However, I usually had between 4-8 in a typical litter.

Hope you're prepared with a 50 gal. aquarium. Good luck!
If you get 2 and they are not the same sex you will have plenty in a few weeks
If you get 5 and you don't want a million, get all girls. Girl mice don't fight with eachother normally, but males tend to. If you want to breed them, get another cage. If you keep males and females in the same cage, they'll mate continuously. Females go into heat several times a year and can get pregnant again 24 hours after giving birth.
more than enough just make sure they dont have babies and u end up with 30

2)why do george and lennie want to own a piece of land and raise rabbits?

if you can only answer one, it's fine. need all the help i can get! thanks :)*easy 10 points* did anyone read the book, ';of mice and men';?
    1: Theme of Friendship

In this novella, friendship isn鈥檛 discussed heavily. George and Lennie don鈥檛 talk about how they feel about each other or why they should stay loyal 鈥?they just stand by each other, and that鈥檚 that. It鈥檚 a very gruff, rough and tumble atmosphere, and though feelings aren鈥檛 talked about, you get the sense that the men take nothing more seriously than their friendship. For George and Lennie, as they make their way through the Depression, all they have is each other.

    http://www.shmoop.com/of-mice-and-men/fr鈥?/a>

2: Theme of Dreams, Hopes, and Plans

In Of Mice and Men, dreams, hopes, and plans are the very foundation of what makes life worth living, but they are also double-edged. The closer one comes to fulfilling a dream, the closer one comes to potentially being disappointed. In this novella, dreams, hopes, and plans are not about realistic ambitions, but about finding a way to survive the Depression, even if it鈥檚 just filling your mind with visions that may not come true. Dreams don鈥檛 escape the general unhappy futility that seems to characterize this era of American history.

However, they use a laser beam underneath (Optical) which means if you operate the device on a reflective surface the cursor will jump around from one spot to another.

Q: Do they detect the tilt of your hand to move the cursor?

A: Place your hand on top of the device and push the mouse to move the cursor to your desired destination.

That question made me lol.Are these laptop ';mice'; handheld, where they can be used without a pad?
lol no grl! they r like normal mice.w/o the wire. you still need something to set it down on but its wireless.

they also have little things you insert in your keys and they are very small and you just wiggle them around and it moves like a mouse
No same as a regular mouse
hmm? They look like regular mice to me.

If you're talking about those kind of mice that you wear on your finger, then no, they are also just basic optical ones.

There are also mice that detect movement (like a Nintendo Wii Mote) such as the Logitech MX Air -- though they tend to be expensive.
    there easy to work

Should I get a cat to get rid of mice? Have you done this? Does it work?

no! get an exterminatorShould I get a cat to get rid of mice? Have you done this? Does it work?
Not all cats catch mice. And I've never had a cat that ate mice, although every cat I ever had that caught a mouse would play with it and then leave it mangled in the middle of the floor or in front of a bedroom door as a ';gift.'; Totally gross.

I kind of agree with the above; if catching mice is your primary goal, get some humane traps or call in an exterminator. If you want a cat and mouse-catching is a bonus, I guess you can try your best, but it's not a guarantee.Should I get a cat to get rid of mice? Have you done this? Does it work?
You shouldn't ever buy an animal as a means to an end. Do you WANT a cat? Are you willing and able to properly care for it (vet visits, quality food, toys, your time and attention)? If not, go with mouse traps or something. You won't have to care for the mouse traps for another 15-20 years.
our flat was once overrun by mice. all because i didn't want to use chemical poisons, scared that my dog would ingest it and get poisoned. the mice traps didn't work. in the end, i had mice jumping in front of me in the kitchen while i was cooking and were running around the house at night. in the end, i did take rat poison. after a few days, less than a week, they were gone. touch wood, we've not had them again. i was told, for a dog of 12 kgs to die from rat poison, the dog would need to eat at least the equivalent of his body weight in poison. but my dog never really got to the poison because i made sure the poison was scattered in places where he can't get into. before you get the mice dancing in your living room, reach for rat poison now.

mice are not only vectors of disease, they can also chew on your electic cables and cause shortcircuits and eventually house fire. they may be cute, but don't get charmed by them.

cat's need care and feeding. not to forget visits to the vet. and they're not guaranteed to be good mice catchers.
Yes I have six cats and between them they have caught several mice's. The first kitten I got I found at the zoo brought her home and the very next day she caught a mouse. It works big time it is in their nature to hunt and they love to do it .
Even if a cat doesn't kill the mice the presence of a cat might help them seek another ';home';.

This has to be the poorest possible reason to get a cat unless you live on a farm. A shelter I know of in Ohio adopts out spayed and neutered feral cats to farms where there is a need to keep rodents under control.
    It works

    female cats are better

My MommyCat is a real killer!
Invest $5 in some traps. They are efficient and you don't have bills for vet - food - litter or house odor.
CATS DO GET RID OF MICE, BUT MOST CATS WILL BRING YOU THE MOUSE THEY HAVE CAUGHT AS A GESTURE OR A GIFT, AND THAT CAN GET GROSS. BETTER TRY STICKY TRAPS. THEY WORK GREAT AND YOU CAN GET THEM AT THE $ .99 STORE.
Nah ! Just put a dab of peanut butter on some glue traps and set them out.
even though you say you will take good care of the cat, if you let it eat the mice, who are ridden with diseases, this isnt very good for kitty
Yes, get a cat. I live near the woods, other people have rodents and I don't, I have a few cats and they keep the rodents away, I think a cat would do wonders for you. I don't even have insects from the woods, my cats are great all the way around. And they are great companions, too. Good luck.
I have always had a cat and there was a time that my area I was living in had a issue with mice, I didn't have one problem.ha ha. cats are great for taking care of the problem. By the way I am not laughing at the mice but rather the neighbours, they hated my cat. I love mice but only in cages. You can buy a humane trap too, but the thing is the mice are more than likely going to keep coming back. Cats are natures way of getting rid of the problem. Just so you know though cats love to play with the mice for a bit even once they made the kill and they like to leave them around for you. I know first hand.
Not all cats will do the job..Females are best but I'd still put out rat poison..You can buy the kind that won't harm humans it comes in blocks and you break off a little piece and place it near the hole they are coming in..

I have pet mice they are still babies but I want to know at what age should I separate the boys from the girls

Mice can breed as early as 4 weeks.

Make sure you separate your babies (males from females) around 4 weeks so this doesn't happen (and inbreeding is not good either).

    http://www.thefunmouse.com/info/breeding鈥?/a>

Here are some other helpful links on the raising of mice:

    http://www.abc.net.au/creaturefeatures/f鈥?/a>

http://www.googobits.com/articles/p0-193鈥?/a>I have pet mice they are still babies but I want to know at what age should I separate the boys from the girls
dont separate them, if u dont want them to breed them give a few mice away.I have pet mice they are still babies but I want to know at what age should I separate the boys from the girls
once they're weaned from, which they should be by now, then you can sepererate them. Don't wait too long!!
Very soon, unless you want more mouse pups. Adolesence for rodents, (particularly mice and rats) begins around post-natal day 28 aka 4 weeks. Early adulthood occurs around 60 days post-natal. Now males and females mature at different rates and different strains of mice mature at different rates as well. Their diet, food composition also has effects on sexual maturation. If you are looking for a more precise time it depends on the combination of those factors and can happen anywhere between 28 days and 60 days. If you want to avoid more pups, I suggest separating them out sooner than later.

Also if you are concerned about removing them from the dam (mother) they will begin weaning around post-natal day 15 and begin to show solid food content in their bellies. In laboratories, weaning is often induced around post-natal day 21 and survive just fine. In the wild, the natural progession of weaning goes up to post-natal day 28.

    Hope that helps!

What is of mice and men by john steinbeck about?

well you could google and read a acutal summary

but its basicaly about two brother (?) i think theyre brother or friends or cousins i cant remember but one of them is like mentally retarded or he basically takes everything literally, and its just a story about their journey and the end, something happens but i kinda dont want to spoil it for you.

its ... alright. i had to read it for class last year, and i obviously didnt like it enough to remember a complete summary. What is of mice and men by john steinbeck about?
It's about three things: the life of migrant farmworkers in California during the Depression, the responsibility one may feel for a retarded cousin who cannot keep from killing things innocently through his great strength, and -- most of all -- the failure of hopeful dreams every to become reality.

  • Since when do scientists fall in love with lab mice?

I thought they are supposed to only 'observe' and record data. What do the scientists do when the mice become aware of their existence? What if the mice don't want cheese anymore? What happens when one mouse just sits there and stares you in the face because it knows that you are watching its every move? What if it doesn't want to go into the excercise wheel anymore? What if it stops pressing the buttons whenever it gets a treat? What if it just stops caring about the scientist because it knows that a mouse and a scientist will never see the same light no matter how smart the scientist is, no matter how big his/her laboratory is, no matter how many tools are in it , no matter how much research is done in order to relate and communicate to the mouse? Don't they just throw them into a biohazardous waste container when they die? How can a scientist even be sympathetic towards a mouse, they poke, probe and prod because it's their job...but love? What's next, names instead of sample #'s?Since when do scientists fall in love with lab mice?

    Seriously that is sick.

What are the two main events that happen in chapter 2 in the book of mice and men?

Okay, you seriously need to stop cheating and read the book yourself. It's really short and not that complicated. Please, your hurting your future grades, and for that matter, work ethics. If you really can't understand what happened, talk to your teacher for help.

Because all of the m%26amp;ms are so different. Seriously, they're just chocolate inside a candy coating. It's not dangerous to add a peanut or something to it (unless you're allergic to nuts...) so why would they even bother testing m%26amp;ms on mice? Besides, chocolate is dangerous for animals to have. If they were really testing for safety, they wouldn't be selling them because all of the animals would have died.Is it true that m%26amp;m (the company) feeds protottype m%26amp;ms's to mice to see if they are dangerous or not?
no because m%26amp;m gives it to people they wouldnt risk it

    Do mice need yearly vaccination?

i want a mouse but my mom says if it needs yearly treatment i can't get it. ps it will not be snake food...i hate snakes.Do mice need yearly vaccination?
yes or they will die of aidsDo mice need yearly vaccination?
no, no, it doesn't. They have a lifespan of like 1.5 years so there is no point treating them because they don't live all that long anyways. And they cost like 3 dollars. I was told to always get at least 2 but when I did that, they killed each other after like 4 months. They're pretty easy pets but you can't really play with them :(
I've owned mice, rats, and hamsters. None of them have ever needed a yearly treatment. Mice, it should be noted, don't live very long anyway.
they will die tomorrow so dnt waste ur money

';Of Mice And Men'; Book Questions?

I'm reading the book ';Of Mice and Men'; and was wondering if you could help me with these questions. Thanks!

    1. From what point of view is “Of Mice and Men”

    written?

    2. Who is the narrator?

    3. Give an example that clearly shows the point of view of this story.';Of Mice And Men'; Book Questions?
1)It starts off in third person. It uses third person subjective throughout the book.

2)Well its uncertain but it could be george. Its probably just steinbeck himself.

3)They had walked in single file down the path.

Lennie looked timidly over at him';George?';';Of Mice And Men'; Book Questions?
    1. The narrator is an omniscient third-person.

    2. A third-person usually doesn't have a name.

    3. Well, I can't remember specific text, but if it wasn't third-person omniscient, terms like ';I'; and ';we'; would be used. And it's omniscient since the narrator, whoever he may be, knows the feelings and thoughts of all the characters.

And I don't see how #1 is objective...

    __No___

    Why or Why not?

____Animals are good nor evil, only humans are capable of such behavior. Animals simply strive for survival and to keep their bloodline going.___
ok I'm gonna be all religious for a second. In the Bible it states that animals don't go to heaven or hell because they don't have souls....correct me if I'm wrong its been a few years since I've read the good book. So if in theory they don't have souls then they couldn't be good or evil...they'd be neutral. although rage can be instilled in an animal but that's not evil it's just anger.

  • My mice drinking tube won't work. It's suppose to drip down water but it's not.?

I have a glass drinking tube in my mouse cage. Exactly like his one here http://www.petmountain.com/show_product/502628/?utm_source=bizrate%26amp;utm_medium=cpc%26amp;utm_term=502628 and it doesnt seem to want to drip down the water and my mice are thirsty. Any Tips?My mice drinking tube won't work. It's suppose to drip down water but it's not.?
Just give them a water dish. Find a small, shallow container, one that they can't get stuck in. Make sure it is heavy, or they'll tip it over. Also, it should be metal, or else they'll chew it apart. My mice drinking tube won't work. It's suppose to drip down water but it's not.?
Well, it could be defective. Give the mice a bowl to drink out of for now and buy a new bottle for them asap.
well if it not working get something that will work so they dont get dihidrated! (no offence) put a bowl of water in it untill youi can go buy a new one from your local pet store.
give them a SHALLOW bowl and when you can, go to a petstore and get a new water bottle.
My rabbit never used his drinking tube. He would always drink out of a saucer.

Do mice stink even if you clean their cage onc a week.?

also can they eat hamster food.?Do mice stink even if you clean their cage onc a week.?
I wouldnt say they stink. They have a natural odour yes, but to me they and their cages actually smell better than rats. I suppose that comes down to the individual person though.

Also if you have males, keep a section of the old bedding to place back in when you clean, it stops him going around spraying madly to get his scent back in the clean cage.Do mice stink even if you clean their cage onc a week.?
    Not always.

I have some very nice bucks (males) who do not spray and do not stink at all.

I have some does who smell horrible.

Diet affects the smell too. If there is alfalfa in the hamster food you should not feed it to mice, their digestive systems do not do alfalfa nicely and you will smell it as well as them getting the runs.

You can have more than one male together if they were together when you got them. Females are just as hard as males to introduce when they are strangers.
Depends on the type of mouse, if you get African Spiny Mice they smell no different then gerbils or hamsters do. However if you get Fancy mice they have a natural odour that is quite strong, female fancy mice aren't as bad, but the males are 5X worse, so defiantly go with females. Remember mice need to be in pairs too. Cleaning the cage will defiantly help a lot though!! You can feed mice hamster food, it is very similar, mouse just has more smaller seeds!!!
I've never owned mice before, but with any animal, you'll need to clean the cage as often as needed to keep the smell down to a minimum. I have heard that mice do smell quite a bit. You may be able to clean out the cage once a week without the smell being too bad, but if not, you may want to try twice a week.

I would say no to the hamster food. Just get some mouse food.
Hamster food lacks some vitamins needed by mice. Males stink a lot more than females but you can only have one male to a cage and you need at least 2 females in a cage so it matters how many there are. I had 7 females in a cage and they didnt stink.
yes. They stink no matter how often you clean their cages. The best you can do is spray some feebrez or something like that, as long as it doesn't harm mice.
    yes there f***ing mice.
    depends on the rat

Why is there only one women in mice and men?

Maybe because women weren't working as migrant workers much? Steinbeck probably didn't feel a woman was central to the plot of attaining the American Dream between George and Lennie, a simple minded man and then the lonely man who chose poor company over NO company. Why is there only one women in mice and men?
because that book showed that it was easy for the majority t osuceed in life. diud you notice how the slave was treated like crap, and how all teh men treated the old guy really bad. There was only one women because that was ususally how it was back then: poeple thought low of women, and did you notice how she was killed?%26gt; there u go. hope that it helped :-)Why is there only one women in mice and men?
The book was dealing with the hard facts of their life.. Women, according to the story, were soft and warm.. they didn't have a place in their life.. or in the story. The little things that die, and the woman are parallels, only different significance. The rabbits(?) deaths were meant to illustrate the little choices that made their dream impossible.. The woman's death was the final blow.. the end of everything. The killing of everything that was soft and warm, even if it hadn't been that much.

Can mice come in through the front door of a house?

Mice can get into anywhere there is a space big enough to get their nose in. I know it sounds weird, but if their nose can fit, they will squeeze their whole body through. So, to answer your question, you need to see if there are any gaps in your front door big enough for a mouses nose. Can mice come in through the front door of a house?
they can make their way through a hole the size of a dime. Can mice come in through the front door of a house?
Any gap big enough for a mouse's head is big enough for the rest of the mouse, and they can (and will) chew their way through wood, plastic, etc. if they smell food on the other side of the obstacle. And yes, if you leave your front door open, they'll come in through there, too.
yes, mice can fit through a gap as big as a pencil!!! Hard to believe but true, we had some coming through our garage door last year, although the gap was tiny!! They can squash themselves up!
    mice can squeeze through anywhere
they can squeeze through very small spaces. so if yo have any little spaces in your doors then they will get through but if there arnt anywhere at all than they wont.
Yes! I was cleaning out my garage years ago and was carrying boxes, talking to my toddler, hair in my eyes, etc. I was holding the doorway open with one leg while my child went into the house and I looked down and saw a tiny mouse run in behind my child!!! I dropped everything and tried to find it! But, it was too fast for me. :O
they are good chewers so if its wooden it probably chewed a hole.

What house food can i feed my mice?

cheereos oatmeal granolaWhat house food can i feed my mice?
well mice in general eat nuts, beeries, ';cheese is common trap food';, crumbs. And if they are real hungry in the wild, mice can pack hunt to take down a bird and eat him like a carnivore. Just give him pieces of bread, or a grape or cheese or something small. PEANUTS!!What house food can i feed my mice?
I assume these are domestic mice. You can feed them just about anything. Seeds, nuts, grains and veggies are okay. Old bread is all right. For a treat, sour some milk with a few drops of vinegar. Then soak bread in this and give it to the mice.

Can i leave my mice in my front porch during winter/summer.?

it is closed in but not good enough. it stays the same temperature in there as outside.

im worried they will get too hot/cold.

    please answer!

thanksCan i leave my mice in my front porch during winter/summer.?
Mice need to be kept in temperatures of 65-80 degrees F. Mice are extremely sensitive to temperature changes and a porch, closed or otherwise, is not a healthy place for them to be. If you live in a climate that is hot in the summer and cold in the winter they need to be brought into the house. A simple space heater won't do it as the porch is not insulated and the heat will exit the porch before truly heating it up.

Sadly in a cold climate mice will not do well regardless of what you think to try aside from bringing them inside. If this is not an option for you please find a more suitable home for them perhaps with friends or family. Can i leave my mice in my front porch during winter/summer.?
No your mice need to be kept inside, apart from either dying from heat or from the cold they are also under threat from wild animals. As you say its not very secure, it's very easy for rats, birds etc to get at them. Mice are indoor pets, they would not last more then a week in any kind of outdoor part of your house. Think of it this way, rabbits are meant to be brought in during the winter or during heat waves. So do you really think small defenceless mice would survive??
dude, it like they get a cardboard box, and they put you in naked during the dead of winter/summer. Are you willing to survive that much time with little movement? You answer me that.
they will definitely get too cold during winter.

It would not be good at all or good to their health to be outside - they need to be kept indoors. Pet mice are not the same as wild.
it may not matter if you live someplace where the temps are not extreme, but if you can bring them inside it would probably be best.
i think they should be inside!

but if you have i light bulb or heat rock it might work.
i would think so also if its hot u could give them a ice pack or ice cubes like i do with my guinea pigs

    Lennie鈥檚 Puppy

Lennie鈥檚 puppy is one of several symbols that represent the victory of the strong over the weak. Lennie kills the puppy accidentally, as he has killed many mice before, by virtue of his failure to recognize his own strength. Although no other character can match Lennie鈥檚 physical strength, the huge Lennie will soon meet a fate similar to that of his small puppy. Like an innocent animal, Lennie is unaware of the vicious, predatory powers that surround him. More鈥?.

The animals also represent the ';dream';. The rainbow coloured bunnies are always brought up when George tells Lennie about the little farm they are going to have and often fantacize about.

The mice also foreshadow events around Lennie. When the reader is introduced to Lennie petting the mouse in his pocket and accidently kills it, we are also aware that something bad happened in his past with a woman. This foreshadows the events surrounding Curleys wife where Lennie again, is petting her softness completely innocent and accidently kills her when he panics.

We can also draw comparisons between the mice and Lennie throughout the novel and their ultimate surmise when Lennie dies at the end of the novel.N the novel Of Mice and men by John Steinbeck, What is the importance of animals?

    Sorry

    Do ragdoll cats hunt mice/rats?

Hey, I've been planning on getting a ragdoll for quite a long time now.

%26amp; I was wondering if they hunt? i know those are cat instincts but i'm not sure about the ragdoll.

    Thanks!Do ragdoll cats hunt mice/rats?

Don't let her out.
    yes

I'm getting mice! How many should I get? Is 5 enough???

    Try working with two females, then seeing what experiences you learn from those two. Such as, ';when will the males eat the babies?';
