Are there certain colors of mouse pads that optical mice do not like?

I have a wireless optical mouse, and I was told to use a light colored mouse pad, to save on the battery. I am not sure about an optical mouse pad that does not use a battery, but I really don't think it makes much difference. Click here%26gt;%26gt;
