Would you have the courage to do the same as George did ? In John Steinbeck's ';Of Mice and Men'; George kills Lennie in an act of kindness ?
its not about kindness or courage- it's about friendship- george would rather kill lenny himself than see him killed by the gaining mob. it's the first book that ever made me cry, and i'd like to think, in that surreal situation, that i'd stand up and be counted.

no i dont think i would have the courage to do the same. It is really a big step to kill your mate in ';an act of kindness.';

i'm not sure kindness is quite the right word, more he didn't want to see his friend suffer.. yeah, for want of a better term, it was an act of kindness.
