We found mouse/mice dropping in our desk, work area, and this a cause for health concrern.?

there is a virus know as ';Hantivirus'; it will kill, cause illness. do we have the right to protest? if i walk out can i be suspend, fired? whats your opinion? We found mouse/mice dropping in our desk, work area, and this a cause for health concrern.?
We had that problem at my place of employment and called the Health Department. The company not only got fined for allowing mice to be present, they also got fined for not properly cleaning it up.

The dust that is stirred up when cleaning up rodent excrement is one way that the hantivirus is spread. If you have to clean it up, be sure to spray it down with a bleach solution (10 to 1 water-bleach) first to kill any virus that might be present and be sure to wear a good dust mask.

You are right, the Hantivirus can KILL! Be super careful! We found mouse/mice dropping in our desk, work area, and this a cause for health concrern.?
Yes, your employer has to provide sanitary safe working conditions. Its the law!
You definitely have a right to protest. I wouldn't walk out just for finding mouse droppings. I would, however, talk to the owner/manager about the problem and see what they suggest to fix the problem as soon as possible. A possible fix would be to locate any foods the mice might be dining on in and around the office. There are health hazards from mice and their droppings that should concern the workplace.
make an anonymous call to the health dept
I would say that you have just cause. They are the ones to be held responsible, not you. I wouldn't worry about the possibility of suspend/fire.
Yes it could be a problem. I would advise your boss immediately.
Just go to ACAS if you have any work related proble

http://www.acas.org.uk/
if you are apart of a union no you cant be fired. If not, and you just walk out of work...yes you can get fired. Tell a supervisor and have them get exterminators
ummmm YES!!! i would for sure, thats not very sanitary!
its just a little mouse poop, clean it up and get back to work.
It is an unhealthy work enviroment. Demand to have an exterminator come on!
I think that you would have to lodge a complaint before you walked out of your job. There are a lot of hazards at work sites
