Mice infestation?

We have mice in our attic and now in the walls and main floor ceilings. Our home is only 4 years old and we've had this problem since last fall. We initially used traps and caught several but now they won' t go in them. We did a perimeter check of the roof, etc. but see no holes or entry points.

Where could they be getting in???

Now we're so desperate (can't even sleep at night due to the chewing noises) we've filled the attic with poison pellets and they are still thriving. How can we get rid of the mice?Mice infestation?
Rodents are extremely adaptive and will learn not to go near traps. Bait will only work if its better than the food they are already eating! Therefore, use water that has been poisoned. They must get water.Be very careful as rat poison will kill humans in large doses. Children are susceptible because of their size. Again, be careful. If a cat eats a poisoned rat it has a good chance of dying. Rodenticides are a secondary poison. If a rodent knows it has been poisoned it will return to the poisoned bait and urinate over it to alert other rodents not to eat it. First try using traps again, but bait them with peanut butter or maraschino cherries. Rats can not resist either.......Good Luck!Mice infestation?
I would try mothballs. Then contact a professional exterminator. That many mice could be spreading diseases in your home. If you have run out of over-the-counter options, seek professional help.
It seems to me that if you've tried poison and traps you only other real options are an exterminator which could/would be pretty costly or get a couple of cats. I live in a 100+ year old house which is very prone to mice infestation but we have a cat that lives outside actually and has access to go under the house in the crawlspace and we have had no more problems with mice, now at first it's kinda nasty because the cat is proud or their catch so they bring the mice and lay them at the door step but after a week or two the cats will do their job. A friend told us that we shouldn't feed the cat so it will be more active in catching the mice but the cat isn't catching them for food anyway, its more the thrill of the chase for the cat, so we feed her well, give her positive attention when she catches a mouse and she is proud to contribute something to the family. If your mouse problem is as bad as you have indicated I'd get two cats and let them live inside your house, and maybe when you are gone or even when you are home give the cats access to the attic and after they catch one or two, the mice will get the hint that this is no longer a safe place to live. One more thing, you will need to get adult cats at least a year old, because a small cat the mouse could hurt it, and pick up all the poison pellets because the cat may try to eat them. Good luck.
call the Pest Control Company
You need to call in a Pest Control specialist. It wont be cheap but it's the only way.

.
It sounds like you need to call in the professionals!

I saw this very same thing on that TV Show ';Flip This House';. It was a very nice, very expensive house, and it was so infested with Mice and Rats that they had to call in an exterminator, and use a dumpster to dispose of the dead critters!
